Grief Support

Grief Support When You Need It

Our grief support program is one of the state’s most comprehensive, with licensed counselors, who provide support and therapy to families of Hospice patients, as well as to members of the community.

Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois offers grief support groups to anyone in the public grieving the loss of a loved one. Groups will focus on adjusting to a new way of life and will highlight effective ways to cope with the challenges and daily stressors of loss. These discussions happen in a supportive and non-threatening atmosphere in a variety of locations throughout our service area.

Some groups meet for six consecutive weeks, and others meet monthly, depending on the topic.

Open support groups, which do not require advance registration, include:

Grief to Hope
Offered in collaboration with Catholic Charities, this on-going support group is offered on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from 9:00-10:30 a.m., at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 West Central Road, Arlington Heights.
