Ways To Give
Run to Remember Half Marathon and Marathon
More than 30 individuals have joined the “Run to Remember” team to raise money for HPNI and the National Hospice Foundation. The participants will individually raise money by running in the Chicago Half Marathon/5K on Sept. 11, and/or the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 9.
The runners, who hail from McHenry, Cook and Lake counties and Wisconsin, include the president of the Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois Board of Trustees, Hal Stinespring, Hal, who participated in both the half and full marathons last year, has signed up to participate in both races again this year.
“As the President of the Foundation Board for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, I felt it necessary to do more than just sit as President but to actually “run”. I wanted to do more than just talk the talk but to actually walk the walk, or in this case, run the run,” he admits. “HPNI touches the lives of those who live in McHenry, Kane, Lake, Boone, DuPage and Northwest Cook County. The National Hospice Foundation is committed to leading a global, philanthropic efforts advancing quality compassionate, end-of-life care for all. Passionately, we support this loving form of care and the far reaching impact it may have for a whole family.”
Also joining the team this year is Julio Gomez, former contestant on The Biggest Loser reality television show, who will run in the full marathon.
