Volunteers are an important part of our hospice care. Whether you provide support to patients and families, help with office duties or work at a fundraising event, you are an integral part of the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois team.

Duck Race Rules and Regulations
Ducks are available by advance adoption and until 5 p.m. on day of race.
A person under the age of 18 years may adopt a duck with a parent or guardian’s permission.
The event is subject to all federal, state and local laws, and is void where prohibited by law.
Only ducks provided by Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois will be allowed in the race. Ducks remain the property of Hospice.
Quackers will be released into the pool in heats and the finish line will be clearly marked.
All VID Ducks will be released into the pool at the same time and the finish line will be clearly marked.
No cash equivalent prizes will be provided in lieu of the designated prizes.
The conduct of the race and the determination of the winners will be audited and verified.
In the event of inclement weather, or other uncontrollable factors, the race will not be held. A drawing for each of the prizes will be held with the numbered ducks adopted prior to the event.
Entrants need not be present to win. All prize winners will be announced at the race and notified by mail and/or phone. All prizes must be picked up at the Hospice office in Barrington within 30 days of the race.
In accordance with law, no purchase or donation is necessary to participate in the Duck Race; however, since the Duck Race is a charitable event for Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, free entry tickets defeat the charitable purpose.
