Hospice Hosts Memorial Day Events
Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI) invites area residents to attend its first Memorial Day service held at the Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington.
The event, set for 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 30, will feature ceremonial activities by members of the Barrington VFW Post, and remarks by retired Army Chaplain Jerry Gleason. Refreshments will be served.
“This will be our first Memorial Day spent in our new facility. We’re pleased to host this ceremony for staff, veterans and area residents, and be able to remember those who have served our country,” said Siobhan White, director of programs at HPNI. “We welcome anyone who lives in the area to join us.”
As part of its Veteran’s outreach program, HPNI staff and volunteers will also present Memorial Day services at four area senior living communities:
10 a.m., The Fountains in Crystal Lake
10 a.m., Lake Barrington Woods in Lake Barrington
11:30 a.m. Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care in Barrington
11:30 a.m., Sunrise of Barrington in Barrington
2:30 p.m., Brookdale/ Devonshire in Hoffman Estates.
These events will be presented cooperatively by HPNI and the servicemen clubs located at each of the facilities. Area VFW representatives will participate. Refreshments will be provided to the community residents who attend.
