July 06, 2010 Hospice Names New Chief Medical Officer
Michael Marschke, M.D., a clinical instructor at the University of Chicago Medical Center and co-director of its Palliative Medicine Program, has been named Chief Medical Officer for Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI). In addition, he will serve as Medical Director for its Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois' new Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care will begin hosting patients on July 1, but Barrington area residents will have an opportunity to tour the facility on June 27 during a grand opening celebration.

Even when facing a crisis, Julie Kieffer is thinking of others.
The Crystal Lake woman, who, with a rare form of head and neck lymphoma, was admitted recently to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI), is asking friends, families and even strangers to support a fund-raising project to purchase a unique DVD series that will be donated to the agency.
