Annual Gala Nets $360,000

Set amidst the rolling Barrington Hills countryside, the annual Hospice Gala netted nearly $360,000 in support of
hospice care, more than $100,000 above its expected goal.

“Once again, we are so thankful for the level of support we received from the many individuals who believe in us and our cause,” said CEO Cindy Musikantow.

This year’s event was held June 25, at the Tall Oaks estate in Barrington Hills. Approximately 400 people attended, who enjoyed cocktails in the gardens, and then made their way down a winding flagstone path to a large white tent in a grassy pasture for dinner, auction and dancing.

Among the highlights of the evening were contributions of $20,000 each from Barrington area residents in the Reverse Auction.
This year’s Gala committee included co-chairs Ann McSorley and Mindy Hogan, Lynda Bollman, Sandy Brottman, Catherine Howes, Patricia Moughan, Courtney Murtaugh, Sharon Prassel and Nancy Sturtevant. Kim Duchossois, longtime HPNI supporter, served as this year’s Honorary Gala Chair, offering her property as the location for the event.

“Co Chairs Ann McSorley, Mindy Hogan and their committee put the icing on the cake for HPNI special events,” said Kim. “Their beautiful, creative and committed work, coupled with a precipitation-free evening, a seasoned auctioneer and generous, enthusiastic attendees, managed to produce one of Hospice’s most successful Galas ever! What a thrill it was to experience!”

Money raised at this event will go toward uncompensated costs related to uninsured or underinsured patients, as well as unreimbursed programming and services and special acute care programs. To view a photo gallery from the Gala, visit hospiceanswers.org/ways-to-give/photo-galleries-foundation.
