Grief Support
Our care continues for the family...
Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois provides grief support to adults and children through its Center for Loss & Hope.
The Center for Loss & Hope offers one of the state's most comprehensive bereavement programs. Highly trained professionals, including licensed clinical professional counselors, provide support and therapy to families of Hospice patients, as well as to all members of the community, for up to one year after a loss through:
- Individual counseling
- Support groups for adults and children

- Phone contact at regular intervals after a loss
- Education about the grief process and coping skills
- Memorial services
- Workshops such as "Handling the Holidays"
- Camp Courage, a summertime day camp for children who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
OPEN SUPPORT GROUPS, which do not required advance registration, include:
"Grief to Hope," which meets on fourth Tuesday of each month
"Bereaved Parents Group," which meets on second Wednesday of each month
SCHEDULED SUPPORT GROUPS, which require advance registration, include:
"Remember U," a monthly grief support group for children, teens and parents
"Loss of a Spouse," six-session program that meets on Monday mornings.
"Loss of a Spouse," six-session program that meets on Thursday evenings
"Adult Loss of a Parent," five-session program that meets on Tuesday evenings
