Hospice of Northeastern Illinois is pleased to announce the opening of its new inpatient unit, located at 527 W. South St., in Woodstock, within the first floor of the Centegra Memorial Medical Center South Street Facility. Opened in October of 2007, the inpatient unit was established and designed to provide 24-hour care for patients with life-limiting illnesses whose symptoms are no longer manageable at home. Featuring a quiet atmosphere and a more homelike design with wood floors, faux finished walls, various pieces of artwork, as well as a game table and sleeper chair for family members in each patient room, the unit includes seven patient rooms and is equipped to hold up to 10 beds. It also features a family room complete with TV, computer, library and kids’ play area, a private meeting space, kitchen and dining area, as well as a quiet/meditation room.
