Care For Veterans

Hospice Services For Military Veterans

Recognizing the special needs of U.S. veterans, Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois offers a Care For Veterans program to provide additional assistance to hospice patients who served in the military.

In addition to providing all of our clinical and psychosocial hospice services, our staff is specially trained to help veterans deal with end-of-life, and war-specific post-traumatic-stress-disorder.

Social workers assist in the identification and assessment of the wide array of Veteran’s Administration entitlements and programs.

Trained veteran hospice volunteers are available to listen, empathize and document veteran stories and histories.

Hospice staff is available around the clock to meet patient and family needs.

Because our program is comprehensive and nonprofit, patients and families will benefit by receiving assistance in accessing all military entitlements and special end-of-life benefits including

  • Headstones and markers
  • Military honors at the memorial service
  • Spouse/survivor benefits
  • Health care with the VA health system and maneuvering through the very unique issues they may encounter.

It is our privilege to serve those who served our country.
