Care For Children

Our Home Is Your Home

Although the goal of our pediatric hospice and palliative care program is to do whatever is possible to enable the child to remain at home, there are times when additional help is needed to manage symptoms.

For these times, your care team may suggest that the child be transferred temporarily to one of our inpatient units—the Pepper Family Hospice Home and Center for Care in Barrington or the Woodstock Hospice Home in Woodstock. With 16 private suites in Barrington and seven in Woodstock, our homes feature warm, comfortable furnishings, spacious gathering rooms, and a staff that is expert in providing the inpatient level of care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In our homes, you can be with your child in a quiet, comfortable setting. Families can gather, visitors can come and go at any time or stay as long as they like. Even family pets can pay a visit. Parents can sleep with their child in the bed or hold them as long as they like in the rocking chair. Favorite toys can be brought in, videos watched or games played.

Once stabilized, the child returns home.
